Van provides 750 million lira in seed support to farmers

In Van, Turkey, authorities have provided 13,957 tons of certified barley and wheat seeds to farmers over the last four years, a support package valued at approximately 750 million lira. Under the coordination of the Van Governorate and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the initiative aims to reach a total of 15,000 tons of seed distribution.

Part of the ‘Van Hububat Ambarı Oluyor-4’ project, the program is designed to reduce input costs for producers and increase agricultural productivity. The funding model involves farmers covering 25% of the costs, while the remaining 75% is financed by the Van Governorate and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Officials expect this support to result in a 30% to 40% increase in crop yields.
