Van residents face nine-day water outage in Edremit

Residents of Yeni Mahalle in the Edremit district of Van have been experiencing a continuous water outage for nine days. The shortage, which began on September 24, 2026, is reportedly due to a technical fault.

Local citizens have expressed significant distress, noting that the lack of water is hindering their ability to meet basic daily needs, including drinking, cleaning, and cooking. Residents are calling on the Van Water and Sewerage Administration (VASKİ) to intervene and resolve the malfunction immediately to alleviate the ongoing hardship.
