Van tramway project route announced

The route for a long-planned tramway project in Van has been announced. AK Party Van Deputy Kayhan Türkmenoğlu stated that the 8.9-kilometer line will run from the Van Regional Hospital (Edremit Regional Hospital) to Kurtuluş Park.

The project aims to increase urban transportation options, reduce traffic congestion, and improve the quality of life for residents. Following a Presidential Decision published in the Official Gazette on September 4, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has taken over the project, which was originally associated with the Van Metropolitan Municipality.

In addition to the tramway, discussions are ongoing regarding the Van Ring Road project to further alleviate city center traffic. While the route and length are now clear, specific details regarding the construction timeline and tender process have not yet been released.
