Van Yüzüncü Yıl University opens new psychological counseling center

Van Yüzüncü Yıl University has officially opened its new Psychological Counseling and Guidance, Research and Application Center building. The facility, spanning approximately 1,100 square meters, is designed to support both educational and counseling activities.

The complex includes a 110-person conference hall, amphitheater classrooms, individual consultation rooms, and play therapy rooms. While the center has provided services since 2014, this new facility aims to strengthen the university’s “Student-Oriented Campus” vision by prioritizing the mental health and psychological resilience of students.

University Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Şevli noted that the center’s services extend beyond students to include university staff and the local population of Van. The construction was completed through a protocol with the Van Metropolitan Municipality, while the interior furnishing was supported by the Presidency of Strategy and Budget. The center also maintains collaborations with institutions such as the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services and the Green Crescent Counseling Center (YEDAM).
