Vana Barba defends Petros Filippidis and discusses acting advice

Greek actress Vana Barba has reaffirmed her public support for Petros Filippidis, describing him as one of the country’s greatest actors and noting that his absence from television is felt.

In recent interviews, Barba revealed that she sought professional advice from Filippidis and Takis Zacharatos to prepare for a challenging emotional scene in the series ‘Blue Hours’. She described the difficulty of portraying a character reacting to a corpse, noting that after several attempts and receiving guidance from her colleagues, she successfully completed the scene to applause from the crew.

Barba also addressed the criticism she has faced regarding her support for Filippidis, particularly following her role as a defense witness in his June 2025 trial. She stated that the opinions of others are ‘their problem’ and emphasized that her current focus is on personal artistic satisfaction rather than television ratings.
