Vana Barba discusses aging and cosmetic surgery regrets

Greek actress Vana Barba has spoken candidly about her return to television in the new series ‘Blue Hours’ and her personal struggles with aging and body image. In an interview with OK! magazine, Barba revealed that insecurities regarding her appearance on camera previously kept her away from television, noting a fear of how she would look in close-up shots.

Barba discussed her past experiences with cosmetic surgery, disclosing that she underwent a procedure at age 22 which she later regretted. She expressed that she wished the doctors she consulted at the time had discouraged her, describing it as a mistake made during a period of intense pressure to maintain a certain image.

Aiming to challenge societal taboos, Barba emphasized her desire to dismantle stereotypes that link aging in women to loss of beauty. She encouraged women to embrace the aging process, stating, ‘I want us to stop being afraid of aging. It is a very beautiful thing that we can and do grow older.’
