Vana Barbara reveals she suffered an ischemic stroke

Greek actress Vana Barbara has revealed that she suffered an ischemic stroke a few months prior to her recent professional return. During an appearance on the program ‘Studio sti 3’, she described the terrifying moment she woke up and realized she was unable to speak or articulate words.

Barbara recounted the panic she experienced at home while attempting to seek help from a companion, noting that she felt numbness and was unable to cry out. She was subsequently rushed to the neurological department at Asklepieio Hospital, where medical staff immediately identified the ischemic episode and performed urgent diagnostic imaging and treatment.

The actress noted that the health crisis impacted her confidence when she resumed work in May 2026, specifically regarding her role in the SKAI drama series ‘Blue Hours’. She expressed gratitude for the rapid medical response she received during the emergency.
