Vana releases new single ‘Bleeding Heart’

Auckland-based industrial alt-pop artist Vana has released a new single titled ‘Bleeding Heart’ through Sumerian Records. The track follows her previous releases, ‘Pray’ and ‘In Your Name’, and serves as a precursor to her forthcoming debut album.

The song draws inspiration from the bleeding heart flower (Lamprocapnos spectabilis), using the plant's life cycle as a metaphor for the fragile and finite nature of human emotions. Vana described the concept as exploring how feelings, much like flowers, are beautiful but destined to wither.

The release coincides with a series of high-profile live performances in the United States. Vana is scheduled to perform at Riot Fest and Louder Than Life before joining the Taste Of Chaos tour on September 22, performing alongside artists such as Hollywood Undead, In This Moment, and I See Stars.
