Vancouver Bandits fall to Calgary Surge 95-80 in CEBL showdown

The Vancouver Bandits lost to the Calgary Surge 95-80 on Thursday night at the Saddledome in Calgary, part of the Alberta club’s annual Stampede game. Bandits forward Tevin Brown scored 21 points with five three‑pointers and five rebounds, while rookie Dominic Parolin added 17 points, two blocks and five rebounds. Coach Ransford Brempong said the team showed good moments but lacked consistent discipline. Calgary’s David Joplin led the Surge with 19 points, and four of his teammates scored in double figures.

The Bandits were missing several key players: Miller Kopp will compete in the NBA Summer League with the Houston Rockets, and CEBL MVP Mitch Creek is currently playing for Australia in FIBA World Cup qualifiers. The loss was the Bandits’ second‑lowest point total of the season. Their road trip concludes on Saturday with a matchup against the Edmonton Stingers at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
