Vancouver Canucks focus on defensive improvements

The Vancouver Canucks are focused on addressing defensive vulnerabilities following a difficult start to the season. After a league-worst home record last season, the team is looking to improve its performance at Rogers Arena.

Following a 9-7 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, where the team surrendered multiple goals during a single penalty kill, head coach Manny Malhotra noted that the squad needs to be better prepared and win more puck battles. Defenseman Luke Schenn emphasized the need to avoid individual errors and turnovers that leave the goaltender exposed.

Despite the recent loss, the Canucks' projected lines for upcoming play remain consistent with those used in their previous matchup, featuring players such as Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser.
