Cammi Granato becomes senior amateur adviser for Vancouver Canucks

Hockey Hall of Fame forward Cammi Granato has left her position as assistant general manager of the Vancouver Canucks to take on a new role as senior amateur adviser, the team announced on Friday. General manager Ryan Johnson said Granato will focus on the amateur side of the organization, adding that her experience and relationships will benefit the club’s scouting and development efforts.

Granato, a former captain of the U.S. women's team that won gold at the 1998 Nagano Olympics, was hired by the Canucks in February 2022 after serving as the NHL’s first female scout with the Seattle Kraken. The front‑office reshuffle follows a broader overhaul that saw Ryan Johnson hired as GM, the Sedin brothers named co‑presidents of hockey operations, and Manny Malhotra appointed head coach after the Canucks finished last in the league standings last season.
