Vancouver Canucks initiate organizational rebuild for 2026–27 season

The Vancouver Canucks are undergoing a comprehensive organizational rebuild following a last-place finish in the 2025–26 NHL season. The franchise has implemented a new leadership structure featuring executive leadership from Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, and Ryan Johnson, alongside newly appointed head coach Manny Malhotra.

To facilitate this transition, the team traded Quinn Hughes to acquire assets for a younger roster. The organization is focusing on integrating prospects such as Zeev Buium, Marco Rossi, Caleb Malhotra, and Adam Novotný. Financially, the Canucks are positioned for flexibility, with projected salary cap space increasing from $17.8 million in 2026–27 to over $50.5 million in 2027–28.

On the ice, attention turns to goaltending stability. After a difficult 2025–26 campaign where Kevin Lankinen posted career-worst marks including a 3.70 GAA, expectations are high for him to regain his 2024–25 form and establish a tandem with Thatcher Demko.

Canucks Sports & Entertainment has launched single-game ticket sales for the 2026–27 season, which will include a 42-game home schedule at Rogers Arena.
