Vancouver Giants appoint new assistant coaches

The Vancouver Giants have appointed Carson Dyck and Jim Vandermeer as assistant coaches for the 2026-27 WHL season. The appointments complete the team's coaching staff for the upcoming year.

Jim Vandermeer brings 18 years of professional hockey experience, including 461 NHL games and a Memorial Cup championship with the Red Deer Rebels. He previously served as a development coach for the Giants between 2021 and 2023.

Carson Dyck joins the staff following a collegiate career at Penn State, where he was an alternate captain and helped lead the program to its first Frozen Four appearance in the 2024-25 season. Head Coach and General Manager Michael Dyck stated that both hires possess the leadership necessary to rebuild the organization's culture and enhance its player development program.
