Vancouver Rise add players ahead of NSL playoff push

The Vancouver Rise have announced new roster additions as they attempt to secure a post-season berth in the NSL. The club has signed Jamaican international Chantelle Swaby and Kaela Hansen to bolster their lineup.

Swaby, 28, brings international experience from the National Women’s Soccer League, the Scottish Women’s Premier League, and France’s top division. Hansen, 26, returns to her home region of Burnaby, B.C., to join the squad.

These moves follow the retirement of veteran forward Mariah Lee and the loan of goalkeeper Kirstin Tynan to the Tides. The defending champion Rise currently sit five points behind Halifax for the final playoff spot.
