Vancouver hosts a weekend of free festivals and concerts Aug 7‑9 2026
Vancouver will offer a series of free outdoor festivals from August 7 to 9, 2026. The Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival at Deer Lake Park will feature soul, funk, indie and Indigenous storytelling, along with food trucks and a beer garden. Light Up Chinatown will run over two days with live music, dancing, food vendors and street‑level performances in the historic Chinatown district. The Pleasant Day Festival will close Main Street to traffic, providing four stages of local music, pop‑up shops and interactive activities across the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood.
Additional highlights include a medieval‑themed fantasy night at The Cobalt (The Black Tavern), a concert by indie pop artist Suki Waterhouse at the Orpheum, and the Vines Art Festival showcasing works focused on land, water and relational justice across parks and beaches. Gastown will host a Sunday set of drag shows, dance battles and live mural painting, while the Vines Art Festival and other free events will continue through mid‑August.
