Vandal Kingdom history and the rise of King Geiseric

During the 5th century, the Western Roman Empire faced significant instability due to the movement of various Germanic tribes. Among these, the Vandals were noted for their destructive campaigns across Italy and Europe.

Under the leadership of King Geiseric, who rose to power in 428, the Vandals migrated from the Carpathian Basin through the Iberian Peninsula and eventually into North Africa. Geiseric seized control of Carthage, establishing the Vandal Kingdom in what is now modern-day Tunisia.

The Vandal Kingdom maintained control over the region for approximately a century, from 435 to 534. During this period, they built a powerful fleet that allowed them to raid Mediterranean islands, including Sicily. The kingdom eventually fell when the expanding Byzantine Empire, led by Justinian I, annexed its territories.
