Vandalism delays completion of inclusive playground in Catania, Italy

The local ACLI “La Ginestra” circle appealed to authorities, urging immediate security measures to protect the site and prevent further loss. President Salvatore Mirabella said, “We feel the duty to report a situation that deeply concerns us. An inclusive play area represents a safeguard of equality and rights, especially for children with disabilities and their families. Seeing it vandalized before opening cannot be ignored.” The group called for swift action to secure the construction area, safeguard the existing work, and ensure maintenance of the vegetation.

The incident highlights concerns over insufficient fencing and protection of public works, as well as the broader impact on community resources and inclusive infrastructure.
