Vandalism investigation at Donald Trump's Doonbeg Golf Resort in Ireland

An Garda Síochána received a report on 4 August of minor damage to a commercial premises in West Clare. Police are investigating suspected chemical damage that affected the 10th tee and part of the fairway at Donald Trump's Doonbeg Golf Resort between 31 July and 1 August. The incident is treated as an anonymous act of property damage and follows a similar vandalism episode in March 2025, when greens were damaged and Palestinian flags were placed on the grounds.

The probe comes ahead of President Trump's scheduled visit to Ireland from 12 September, which includes attendance at the Irish Open final round on 13 September. Gardaí are reviewing surveillance footage, conducting forensic analysis of the chemicals used, and appealing for information from anyone near the 10th tee or Doughmore Beach during the relevant period. No individual or activist group has claimed responsibility for the latest damage.
