Vandalism spikes at Rome metro stations and Italian EV charging points

In Rome, graffiti and vandalism at Metro stations Jonio and San Paolo prompted a formal complaint to authorities. Municipal officials have introduced a color‑coded priority system to classify graffiti severity and plan removal actions, but questions remain about continuous monitoring of station areas.

Separately, a charging station operated by Enel X in Latina, Lazio, was severely vandalized, with the display screen ripped off and discarded beside the unit. Similar reports of damaged electric‑vehicle charging points have emerged from Sicily and other Italian locales. The incidents underline the vulnerability of transport‑related infrastructure, where insufficient surveillance and protection encourage repeated attacks, complicating the rollout of electric mobility in Italy.
