Mercedes AMG G63 wreck sold for €21,500, outpacing Dacia Sandero

A 2024 Mercedes‑AMG G63 was heavily vandalised, split in two and reduced to a skeletal frame. Despite being classified as non‑repairable, the vehicle was listed on the Copart auction platform (lot #54250516) and attracted a winning bid of about €21,500 (≈ $24,500). The price exceeds the cost of a brand‑new Dacia Sandero and is far above the typical value of a wrecked car. The original market price of the G63 was around €143,000. The high sale price was driven mainly by the intact 4.0‑litre V8 biturbo engine, rated at 585 hp, along with other valuable components such as wheels, brakes and interior parts.

The auction highlighted how specific high‑value parts can command premium prices in the used‑parts market, even when the overall vehicle is beyond repair. The sale sparked discussion about the economics of salvaging luxury‑car components and the role of online auction houses like Copart in facilitating such transactions.
