Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant renews municipal vehicle fleet
The Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant City Council is progressively renewing its municipal vehicle fleet to replace aging and deteriorated units with safer, more efficient equipment. Over the last three years, the Department of Works and Services has invested approximately 79,514 euros in four second-hand vehicles, including two vans, a dump truck, and a bucket truck.
This year, the renewal has focused on environmental services through the incorporation of two electric vehicles via a renting model through the Catalan Association of Municipalities (ACM). These include a Goupil GM4 equipped with a high-pressure water cleaning system for street cleaning and waste collection, and an OHM S35 pickup with a trilateral tipper for gardening and green area maintenance. These additions follow the recent integration of two Hako Citymaster 2250 sweepers.
For the recent acquisitions in the environmental service sector, the council has reserved a total of 597,288.56 euros over a four-year renting period. Laura Olmo, the Councilor for Environment and Works and Services, stated that the renewal is necessary because existing vehicles have high mileage and are significantly deteriorated, necessitating a gradual prioritization of the most essential tools for municipal brigades.
