Vanderlei Luxemburgo presents sports policy plan for Senate bid

Vanderlei Luxemburgo, the former Brazilian national team coach and candidate for the Senate in Tocantins representing the Podemos party, has presented a parliamentary action plan focused on strengthening regional sports. During a meeting in Palmas with various sports federation leaders, Luxemburgo proposed a diagnostic study of sports infrastructure in the state's 139 municipalities and schools to guide future investments.

His proposals include the creation of a ‘Bolsa Treinador’ program, the implementation of a unified competition calendar, and the establishment of a ‘Palácio dos Esportes’ to provide administrative and technical support to federations. Luxemburgo emphasized treating sports as a public policy and intends to use parliamentary amendments to fund these initiatives.

In his official asset declaration to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Luxemburgo reported total assets of R$ 3.7 million, which includes real estate, bank deposits, and shares. He noted that this amount is modest compared to other candidates, such as Marcelinho Carioca, who declared assets exceeding R$ 45 million.
