Vanesa Coello appointed sales director of Bancal Hotel & Spa La Gomera

Vanesa Coello, a tourism specialist with 26 years of experience on the Canary Islands, has been named sales director of the Bancal Hotel & Spa on La Gomera. Her career has spanned hotel administration, operations, and marketing, giving her deep knowledge of the region’s tourism market.

Coello says the hotel should sell experiences rather than just beds, emphasizing that the destination – La Gomera’s nature, silence and slower pace – must be the primary draw for guests. The new strategy targets the DACH market, promoting hiking in the Garajonay National Park, year‑round wellness stays, and the island’s local gastronomy. Sustainability and authentic, detail‑focused service are highlighted as core pillars of the hotel’s offering.
