Vanesa Tot wins silver in canoe sprint at Mediterranean Games

Croatian canoeist Vanesa Tot won the silver medal in the C1 200m sprint at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto. Tot led the race for most of the distance but lost the gold in the final strokes, finishing with a time of 48.04 seconds.

Italy's Elena Voltan took the gold medal with a time of 47.97 seconds, while Spain's Valeria Oliveira Otero earned the bronze with 49.01 seconds. Tot, a former U23 world champion and Tokyo 2020 Olympian, expressed satisfaction with the result despite the narrow loss of the top spot.

With this achievement, Croatia currently holds 8th place in the medal standings at the games, having secured three silver and one bronze medal so far.
