Vanessa Bosåen to depart Virgin Music Group UK

Vanessa Bosåen is departing from her role as President of Virgin Music Group UK. Bosåen, who has been with the company for approximately six years, confirmed her exit in a note to staff and via LinkedIn.

Bosåen joined the division in 2021 following its relaunch as a label services producer and distributor by Universal Music Group. During her tenure, she helped grow the UK division into one of the group’s flagship businesses, overseeing campaigns for artists including Rema, Beabadoobee, and Melanie C.

Her departure follows Virgin Music Group’s USD $775 million acquisition of Downtown Music Holdings earlier this year. In June, the company announced a new global and regional leadership structure. In Europe, Nick Roden was named President, with Liz Northeast appointed as SVP and General Manager. Bosåen has not yet announced her next professional move or named a successor.
