Mexico City police locate vehicle used to harass Vanessa Huppenkothen

TUDN sports presenter Vanessa Huppenkothen reported being harassed and followed by a red Toyota SUV while driving through the Tlalpan and Miguel Hidalgo areas of Mexico City. During a live Instagram broadcast, Huppenkothen expressed fear for her safety, noting that the vehicle performed aggressive maneuvers to block her path. She managed to distance herself from the vehicle after encountering a military convoy in the area.

Following the viral social media reports, the Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) launched an investigation using C5 surveillance cameras. Authorities successfully located the red vehicle in the Iztapalapa borough, specifically near the intersection of Calzada Ignacio Zaragoza and Guadalupe Victoria.

The driver of the vehicle was apprehended and presented before a civic judge for causing a disturbance in public spaces. While social media users suggested the incident might be related to 'montachoques' (road extortion gangs), authorities have not officially confirmed a criminal link to such groups. Huppenkothen has since confirmed she is safe and at home.
