Vangelis Marinakis ranked 43rd among world's wealthiest football owners

According to a list published by the website Four Four Two, Greek businessman and shipping magnate Vangelis Marinakis is ranked as the 43rd wealthiest football club owner in the world. His estimated fortune stands at approximately €4.5 billion.

With this ranking, Marinakis has surpassed Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, who occupies the 44th position with an estimated wealth of €4.2 billion. Marinakis holds ownership interests in Olympiacos, Rio Ave, and Nottingham Forest.

The report notes Marinakis's transition from a prominent shipping family to a global business leader through Capital Maritime & Trading Corp, with additional interests in media and energy. Since acquiring Olympiacos in 2010, he has overseen the club's domestic dominance and its 2024 Conference League victory. His involvement in football expanded to England in 2017 with the acquisition of Nottingham Forest.
