Vania López González faces corruption and transparency allegations in Córdoba
Vania López González, the former unique syndic (2022-2025) and current ninth councilwoman of the Córdoba City Council, is facing allegations of corruption and lack of transparency regarding her management.
At least 21 public information requests have been registered via the National Transparency Platform. These requests seek documentation concerning beneficiary lists, expense receipts, and reports for social programs such as ‘Sembrando Vida, Cosechemos Agua’. Additionally, inquiries have been made regarding unresolved lawsuits, direct contract adjudications, and environmental policies related to waste collection and transfer centers.
Reports indicate a pattern of evasion, with responses often being incomplete or redirected to offices that claim to lack the necessary information. In one instance, a request regarding social programs resulted in a claim of an ‘exhaustive search without locating information,’ with officials arguing that the data pertains to a previous administration.
