Driver convicted for unsecured cargo incident on Danish motorway

A 34-year-old truck driver from West Zealand has been sentenced by the Roskilde Court for failing to properly secure cargo. The incident occurred in January 2024 on the Køge Bugt Motorway near Greve, when a piece of metal from an old car fell from the trailer and struck the windshield of a following vehicle. The driver was ordered to pay a fine of 2,500 DKK and received a conditional suspension of his driver's license for disregarding traffic safety.

Other recent traffic incidents in Denmark include a collision in Glamsbjerg where a motorist struck the rear of a bus, and a head-on collision in Svenstrup involving a 19-year-old driver. In the Svenstrup case, police suspect the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Additionally, a single-vehicle accident occurred in an Aarhus roundabout, believed to be caused by a driver's sudden illness.
