Vans and Evisen Skateboards announce new collaboration

Vans and Evisen Skateboards have announced their second collaboration, featuring the Skate Half Cab Wafflecup model. Scheduled for release on August 22, the footwear utilizes Wafflecup technology to combine cupsole support with the flexibility and board feel of a vulcanized sole. Technical features include a DuraCap underlay for durability, SickStick rubber outsoles for grip, and PopCush insoles for shock absorption.

The design draws inspiration from Japanese shogun aesthetics, incorporating elements of armor and hakama. The upper utilizes various leather textures and wavy, glossy fabrics in traditional Japanese colors such as iron green, jet black, and tortoiseshell, with purple accents on the laces and heel patch. The clear outsole is designed to reveal the Evisen Skateboards logo, reminiscent of sake with floating gold leaf.

A launch party to celebrate the collaboration will be held on August 21 at SPOT. Yoyogi Park in Shibuya, Tokyo, featuring DJs and a summer festival theme.
