Vanspor penalized with 2-point deduction by TFF

Vanspor has been penalized with a 2-point deduction by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), reducing the club’s total from 6 to 4 points and dropping them to 17th place in the standings. The penalty stems from licensing deficiencies during the 2025-2026 season, specifically the failure to employ a club doctor for the Professional Football A Team and licensed youth coaches for the U-6 and U-12 categories.

Club President Özgür İreç İlhan stated that these administrative and sporting shortcomings occurred under the previous management. He noted that the current administration has since addressed these issues by appointing Dr. Eralp Atay and his team as club doctors, and Hakan Manay as the youth academy coach.

Vanspor has officially appealed the decision to the TFF Arbitration Board. İlhan emphasized that the club is conducting a thorough investigation into the legal, financial, and administrative failures inherited from the former leadership and intends to hold responsible parties accountable if the penalty is finalized.
