Vanya Velikova announces departure from politics

Vanya Velikova has announced that she will not run for political office again, opting instead to focus on her musical career. This decision follows her recent presidential campaign where she and partner Panayot Kyuchukov received just over 4,500 votes in the first round.

Panayot Kyuchukov expressed interest in running for municipal council in upcoming local elections, describing it as a potential next step. Kyuchukov claimed that the majority of the campaign support was directed toward him personally, citing his social media presence and engagement with followers in Bulgaria, Canada, and the United States.

Velikova disputed Kyuchukov's assessment, noting that he focused heavily on media and institutional appearances to explain his candidacy. She expressed disappointment with the election results, noting she had hoped to reach the runoff. Velikova also mentioned receiving support in Burgas and Kardzhali, attributing some success in Kardzhali to her popularity among the Turkish-origin community.
