Varaždin hosts international small animal exhibition

The city of Varaždin hosted an international exhibition of small animals at Graberje, featuring over one thousand animals. The event included 127 exhibitors from Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Hungary.

Participants showcased a variety of species, including rare poultry, exotic birds, rabbits, and highly valued pigeons. Organizers noted a significant international demand for certain Croatian pigeon breeds, particularly in the Middle East.

The exhibition also highlighted the issue of abandoned exotic pets. Organizers and participants reported instances of owners discarding animals, such as royal pythons, emphasizing the need for responsible ownership and the protection of rare species.
