Varaždin hosts Memorial Race 37 to honor fallen police officers

The second annual ‘Memorial Race 37’ was held near the Arena Varaždin, organized by the Varaždin Police Administration. The event honored 37 fallen and missing police officers from the former Varaždin Police Administration during the Homeland War.

Approximately 500 participants, including athletes, children, police officers, and persons with disabilities, competed across six disciplines. The event featured a half marathon, a 5,000-meter race, walking competitions, and races for children and persons with disabilities. A portion of the funds raised was designated for the Police Solidarity Foundation.

In the half marathon, Ivan Golub secured first place in the men’s category, setting a course record, while Anica Sitar won the women’s category. Other winners included Krešimir Knežević and Ani Čupić in the police officer category, and Filip Komes and Marina Godinić in the 5,000-meter races.
