Varaždin–Krapina Fast Road Construction Advances on Schedule
The 315‑million‑euro Varaždin–Krapina fast road project in Croatia is progressing as planned. The first 7.5‑km segment between Varaždin and Cerje Tužno, valued at €25.47 million, began construction on 29 April 2025 and is slated for completion within 36 months.
County Župan Anđelko Stričak, accompanied by officials from the Croatian Roads Authority and local municipalities, reported that the works on the first phase are on track. Project documentation for the next sections—Cerje Tužno–Ivanec, Ivanec–Lepoglava, and the Lepoglava–Bednja–Đurmanec corridor—has been prepared or is nearing completion. The new road will link the A4 motorway (Zagreb–Goričan) with the A2 motorway (Zagreb–Macelj), improving regional connectivity between Varaždin and Krapina counties.
