Varanasi hosts major tourism and cultural events
Varanasi is hosting major cultural and hospitality events aimed at boosting tourism through the city's spiritual and culinary heritage. The 56th annual conference of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) is being held from August 21 to 23 under the theme ‘Eternal Kashi’. The conference, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, expects attendance from high-profile figures including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and various state ministers and international ambassadors.
Simultaneously, the Government of Odisha is organizing ‘Odisha Parab’ in Varanasi from August 22 to 24. In association with FICCI, this three-day event aims to showcase Odisha’s cultural heritage, traditional crafts, and cuisine. The showcase includes 32 stalls featuring live demonstrations of Pattachitra, palm-leaf engraving, silver filigree, and Dhokra. The initiative seeks to strengthen the cultural and tourism connection between Odisha and Uttar Pradesh by highlighting the shared spiritual significance of the two regions.
