Varanasi Kashi Vishwanath Temple sees large crowds for Sawan Shivratri

Large crowds of devotees gathered at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi to observe Sawan Shivratri. Following the Mangala Aarti, long queues formed for devotees to perform Jalabhishek, a ritual involving the offering of water, milk, curd, and Bel leaves.

The temple premises were decorated with flowers and special lighting for the occasion. To manage the heavy influx of pilgrims, local authorities implemented security measures including barricading and drone surveillance to monitor the crowds.

Similar religious observances were reported across India, including significant gatherings at the Babulnath Temple in Mumbai and various Shiva temples in Patna, Bihar.
