Varanasi: US man performs ancestral rites for late uncle

Jackson, a resident of Michigan, USA, traveled approximately 12,000 kilometers to Varanasi, India, to fulfill the final wishes of his late uncle, Net. Following his uncle's passing, Jackson sought to perform traditional Hindu rituals to ensure his soul's peace and salvation.

At Assi Ghat, under the guidance of priest Rahul Pandey, Jackson performed the 'Asthi Visarjan' (immersion of ashes) in the Ganges River. The ceremony included Vedic chanting, 'Tarpan', and 'Pind Daan' during the Pitru Paksha period. Jackson noted that his uncle held a deep reverence for Indian culture and specifically wished for his ashes to be immersed in the Ganges.

The ritual highlights the spiritual significance of Kashi (Varanasi) and the Ganges in Sanatana Dharma, attracting devotees from across the globe to perform ancestral rites.
