Varenna receives donation of historical lakeside villa

The municipality of Varenna has received a significant real estate donation consisting of a historical villa located in the town's historic center. Loredana Spiga Venier, widow of Gianmarco Venier, transferred the property, valued at approximately 1.6 million euros, to the local administration.

The residence is a two-level home featuring a kitchen, living area, three bedrooms, a veranda, and a large terrace overlooking Lake Como. The property also includes a garden and an external storage room with a tower.

The donation includes a legal mandate that the property must be used for social, cultural, and tourism activities promoted by the administration to benefit the local community. This restriction is set to be recorded for ninety years. The donor stated the decision was made to honor the memory of her husband, who maintained a lifelong connection to Varenna.
