Varese allocates 119,000 euros to support water polo clubs

The Municipality of Varese has allocated 119,000 euros to support local water polo clubs for the 2026/2027 season. This financial aid follows the closure of the historic via Copelli municipal swimming pool, which has forced clubs like Von to seek alternative training facilities.

The funding is split between the 2026 budget (44,000 euros) and the 2027 budget (over 75,000 euros). The measure aims to cover the costs of using alternative venues, such as the Robure pool in Ispra, to ensure that the increased expenses resulting from the facility closure do not fall entirely on families and young athletes.
