Varese hosts Lorenzetti exhibition on art and politics
The exhibition “Cor Magis. Il cuore, l’opera, il bene di tutti. Siena A. D. 1337” is currently on display at the Teatro Santuccio in Varese, running until November 2. The project, titled “Il Buon Governo. Quando l’arte incontra la politica,” uses reproductions of Ambrogio Lorenzetti’s famous “Good Government” frescoes from Siena’s Palazzo Pubblico to explore the relationship between political decisions and civic life.
Promoted by Compagnia delle Opere Insubria with support from the Lombardy Region and in collaboration with the Centro Culturale Massimiliano Kolbe, the initiative aims to connect artistic heritage with civic education. The event features discussions between art historian Monica Braga and economist Federico Visconti to examine how themes of work, trust, and responsibility within the 14th-century frescoes remain relevant to modern society.
