Varese, Italy to Host 2024 European Rowing Championships

From July 31 to August 2, Lake Varese and the Schiranna waterfront will host the 2024 European Rowing Championships, featuring more than thirty national teams and roughly five hundred athletes. The event is expected to draw several thousand spectators, coaches, officials and support staff, turning the city into a temporary sports village.

Organizer Pierpaolo Frattini said the championships are designed to boost tourism and offer a full‑day programme for visitors, including a free Fan Zone with music, street food and a "Rowing Village" offering rowing‑ergometer trials and fitness classes. Access to the competition area is free, with ticketed seats only for the grandstand. The initiative aims to showcase Varese to an international audience and link the lakeside venue with the city centre.
