The province of Varese has recorded a 33.1% growth in the added value generated by its cultural and creative production system between 2021 and 2025, outperforming both regional and national averages. This growth is supported by various regional initiatives in Lombardy aimed at digital innovation and heritage preservation.

Through the InnovaCultura program, the Lombardy region is funding several digital projects. In Varese, approximately 585,000 euros are being allocated to six cultural institutions to integrate artificial intelligence into museums and libraries, facilitating personalized tours and digital archives. Similarly, in Brescia, 292,000 euros are designated for augmented reality at the San Salvatore basilica and a digital twin for the Vittoriale degli Italiani.

Other regional investments include over 660,000 euros to support 41 historic businesses in Varese to ensure generational transition and modernization. Additionally, the Lombardy region is promoting sports and wellness through various funding measures, including nearly 1 million euros for large sporting events and 152,000 euros for local municipal initiatives.
