Varese Nursing Order launches Italian course for foreign nurses

The Order of Nursing Professions of Varese (OPI Varese) has launched an Italian language course in Gallarate for 15 foreign nurses. The participants, primarily from South America, are currently working in local cooperatives and residential care facilities (RSA).

The program aims to provide clinical professionals with better command of the Italian language and a deeper understanding of the regulations governing the nursing profession in Italy. This initiative follows an exponential increase in foreign nurses arriving in the Varese province, driven by significant local shortages in nursing staff.

Developed by the Order's Foreign Commission, led by Dr. Marcello Vargiu, the course seeks to support professionals navigating a different linguistic and professional environment. Salvatore Santo, president of the Order, stated that the initiative intends to reduce the sense of precariousness during professional and social integration.
