Varese Prefecture approves video surveillance projects for eight municipalities

The Prefecture of Varese has granted approval for urban video surveillance projects submitted by eight municipalities within the province. The participating towns include Biandronno, Brenta, Busto Arsizio, Cairate, Casorate Sempione, Gallarate, Valganna, and Varese.

These projects were developed following the signing of “Patti per l’attuazione della Sicurezza Urbana” (Pacts for the Implementation of Urban Security) between the Prefect and local mayors. Technical clearance has also been obtained from the State Police “Zona Telecomunicazioni Lombardia” office in Milan, ensuring all proposals meet current regulatory requirements.

Prefect Salvatore Pasquariello noted that the initiatives are intended to increase local security levels and serve as a deterrent against criminal activity. The projects have been forwarded to the Ministry of the Interior, which will evaluate funding eligibility and establish a national ranking through a central commission.
