Varese readies for European Rowing Championships with Euro Rowing Village and Fun Zone

Varese, Italy, is finalising preparations for the 2026 European Rowing Championships scheduled from 31 July to 2 August. An "Euro Rowing Village" is being set up in Piazza Monte Grappa, featuring a giant screen that will broadcast the races live and showcase local tourist attractions and sport clubs. The village will be officially inaugurated on 29 July at 19:00 with the live show “Varese Lake 2.0: canottaggio e food”. The following day, 30 July, the screen will air the opening ceremony and a special program on pararowing and inclusion.

A Fun Zone is being created at the Schiranna site adjacent to the rowing course. From 29 July to 31 July the area will host food‑truck stalls, DJ sets and live music in the evenings, offering a full entertainment experience for spectators. The rowing competitions are scheduled as follows: 31 July, 09:00‑17:00; 1 August, 09:00‑14:30; and 2 August, 09:00‑14:00. Organisers highlight the event as a catalyst for promoting sport, inclusion and the cultural and gastronomic excellence of the Varese region.
