Varese Province approves new Territorial Coordination Plan

The Provincial Council of Varese has officially approved the new Provincial Territorial Coordination Plan (PTCP). This decision concludes a multi-year process that included a period of review and feedback from municipalities, various entities, and the Lombardy Region.

President Marco Magrini stated that the feedback received since the document's initial adoption in April helped refine the plan without altering its strategic core. Key updates within the approved plan include revisions to the Provincial Ecological Network and the redefinition of functional units to better align with existing urban fabrics and municipal land-use plans.

The plan also introduces modifications to Strategic Agricultural Areas based on actual land use and agricultural activity. Regarding mobility and infrastructure, the document provides specific updates to the pedestrian and cycling networks, as well as the hierarchy of provincial roads and the Green Network.
