Varese to host 2026 European Amateur Cycling Championships

The province of Varese is preparing to host the European Amateur Time Trial and Gran Fondo Championships on October 3 and 4, 2026. As part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, the event is expected to attract over 4,000 international athletes.

To maximize the economic and touristic impact, Fondazione Varese Welcome and Società Ciclistica Alfredo Binda have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding. The event will officially be named ‘Granfondo Tre Valli Varesine – Trofeo Fondazione Varese Welcome’. This partnership aims to promote the region through the ‘#VareseDoYouBike’ marketing plan, encouraging participants to explore local cycling itineraries.

To further support local hospitality, the Varese Chamber of Commerce is offering the ‘Sport&Stay’ initiative, which provides a contribution of up to 200 euros per night for athletes who extend their stay in the province. The amateur event serves as a precursor to the professional Tre Valli Varesine race scheduled for October 6, 2026.
