Variosystems expands manufacturing capabilities in Switzerland

Swiss EMS provider Variosystems is expanding its manufacturing capabilities at its Steinach site, specifically targeting highly regulated sectors such as Aerospace & Defense and Medtech & Life Science.

To increase capacity, the company modernized and relocated its Box Build Assembly Competence Centre in September 2025. This reorganization optimized workflows and freed up space for a new silicone application room featuring a decontamination area. Additionally, a new Gluing Competence Centre has been established, utilizing an automated dispensing and bonding system to improve efficiency and repeatability.

The coating area has also been expanded with a fully integrated line to standardize processes. Future investments include the installation of a plasma surface activation system in 2027 to improve material adhesion, as well as an automatic optical inspection system for coating. Further modernization is planned for the THT production area, focusing on automation and layout optimization. These Swiss operations work in coordination with the company’s German site in Geseke.
