Various art exhibitions open in Serbia and Montenegro

Several new art exhibitions are opening across the region. In Šabac, the Library of Šabac, in collaboration with the Association of Fine Artists of Šabac, is hosting ‘Žica’, an exhibition by Dragana Đurđević and Saša Stamenković. The display features Đurđević’s ‘Nerv’ series focusing on contemporary psychological tension, alongside Stamenković’s digital works and drawings inspired by urban architecture.

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro is presenting a retrospective of Polish artist Mirosław Bałka titled ‘1978/2026/Otwock+’. Curated by Teodora Nikčević, the exhibition explores themes of memory, oblivion, and historical violence through sculptures, drawings, and installations, drawing inspiration from the artist’s hometown of Otwock.

In Belgrade, Gallery Vasić is celebrating its fifth anniversary with an exhibition showcasing works from the Vasić family private collection. The exhibition features 23 works by 18 different artists, including Leonid Šejka, Ivan Tabaković, and Dado Đurić. The collection highlights finished works on paper, collages, and sculptures, many of which are rarely seen outside of museum settings.
